Mazao Plus is a service that seeks to enhance interactions between farmers and fertilizer vendors.
This is by ensuring that fertilizer information is provided for and made open by fertilizer vendors. Using a USSD code, farmers get information on fertilizer vendors closest to them, who are selling the type of fertilizer that they are looking for. In addition, farmers get to know different fertilizer prices either per 50kg bag or per unit kilogram.
Where is it available?
Mazao Plus Service is currently available in three Sub-counties in Murang’a County ,Kenya i.e. Kangema, Maragua and Gatanga. We are also tried to make it available the entire county and later available to the neighboring counties.
How it works for vendors
Vendor registration
Vendor is register by our agent on ground.Key details are capture using mobile app.These details are vendor names,shopname,mobile number,fertilizers sold by the vendor ,prices and packaging methods.
Vendor price updates
Using the simplest mobile phone a vendor dial *483*34# USSD code and he/she is able to chooses the type of fertilizer he/she want to update its price.
SMS Response
After farmer choose the fertilizer to update and the current price,a success SMS is sent back with fertilizer details of the fertilizer that has been successfully updated.

Farmer is register by our agent on ground.Key details are capture using mobile app.These details are farmer names,mobile number ,crops cultivated and the cordinates of the farm are also captured.
Farmer request
Using the simplest mobile phone a farmer dial *483*34# USSD code and he/she is able to chooses the type of fertilizer he/she is requesting information for it.
SMS Response
After farmer choose the fertilizer ,a success SMS is sent back with fertilizer details such as type and packaging and also the nearest three vendors name and the contacts.
